Wildcat Food Den-Food Pantry
The Wildcat Food Den in an in school food pantry serving every student in the school.
75% or more of our students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Many students don't have enough food at home or maybe none at all. The Alumni Association supports, funds, and runs the Wildcat Food Den right in the school. This is a room filled with shelf stable items, frozen meals, fresh produce, juice, milk, and personal care items. We are open 1:45-2:45 every Tuesday and Friday. The students can come in to grocery shop, FOR FREE, and take food home for themselves and their families. In December we served 520 children, 102 adults, 15 senior citizens, and distributed more than 1,500 pounds of food.
Dare to Care provides fresh produce on a weekly basis. Plehn's bakery donates a generous amount of their beautiful breads, rolls, and buns. The Alumni and our generous members of the community have donated and supported our efforts.
Healthy, well fed, students are better equipped to learn, to thrive, to be kind, and to be happy. Feed the kids, better the community.
